BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS -- THREE 1920 & 1921 REGISTERED COVERS WITH MANY UNUSUAL POSTAL MARKINGS. CLICK ON HEADLINE TO SEE ALL THE SCANS.

Registered #245711 -- This 1920 Boston cover was sent registered mail. On the face it has these postal markings: Return Receipt Requested; Not in City Directory (twice) a very hard to find mark even once on a cover; unclaimed (twice); notice Sep 8 1920; registered No. 245711; 48139; 16858; 188137 in pencil; Try Sta E (in blue pencil); not as tried 89 (in pencil); return to sender pointing finger (twice). I think that's it along with the nice double oval Boston postmarks. The back has another pointing hand and an unclaimed mark along with Boston and Louisville KY dial markings. There are four tiny staple holes left side of cover and note the notch at upper left of cover. Otherwise, shows normal wear for a cover of this early vintage. Nice 10-cent Franklin stamp to go with postal stationery. Cover corner card of New England Mutual Life Insurance Company.
