Reverend Arnold was a Baptist Minister well-regarded for his sermons and religious leadership. His "Peace the Fruit of Righteousness: A sermon Preached in Westboro, Massachusetts, on Fast Day, April 2, 1863" is still available from booksellers. He attended Brown University and was stationed in both Providence Rhode Island and Westborough Massachusetts.
