HOBBIEVLLE INDIANA 1836 MANUSCRIPT STAMPLESS FOLDED LETTER TO NEW YORK CITY

Year:

1836
Indiana

Hard to find manuscript stampless folded letter. Brief letter mentions that sender's brother is busy trying to get a shepherd dog from Scotland.  Also mentions cotton business, and quoting prices for land.  Writer was the postmaster of Hobbieville at the time, thus postage was FREE.  See scan for slight wrinkles at left and also two slices into green paper stock at lower left. Hobbieville is an unincorporated town in Center Township, Greene County, Indiana.
