SPRINGDALE CONNECTICUT 1920 DEAD POST OFFICE COVER TO WOBURN MASSACHUSETTS WITH LETTER AND 1920 WOBURN TAX BILL.

Year:

1920
Massachusetts

Mae sends an interesting letter to Della Hill, 159 Wahington Street, Woburn MA: "Want to send the tax money as I thought I would write a few line before I hear from you. Cant write much for I want to get this off at once and get rid of it. I only saved $10 .00 out of this pay but that is better than nothing. I am going to the bank this P.M. If the election goes republic Roland is in a good position to get post masters job in Springdale. $2,700 a year. He is getting awful tired of working so hard in Yale. Keep this dark because he is not sure of course yet. He will have a pull somewhere to get it but he has lots of friends helping him. If it goes democratic the same fellow will still hold it." There is more interesting reading. Enclosed is a 1920 Woburn Mass real estate tax bill in the amount of $10.40 with a rubber stamp signature of Thomas J. McEdgan, collector. Good, full Springdale Connecticut Dead Post Office postmark. Lots to like in this offering.
