Hello and Welcome to MGJ Postal History

We are offering for sale a wide variety of covers—from stampless covers to First Day Covers, from the very old, to contemporary. While we primarily sell covers, you will also find stamps, other postal items and interesting ephemera for sale. We hope you enjoy the site and visit often. We welcome your comments.

I am a life member of the American Philatelic Society and am a member of the Society’s estate advisory service. I am also a member and volunteer at the Cardinal Spellman Philatelic Museum in Weston, Massachusetts. In addition, I am a licensed, bonded auctioneer in Massachusetts.

	NEW YORK CITY 1875 POSTAL CARD WITH HAND CARVED REVERSE NUMERAL 3 POSTMARK Probably made from wine a cork. Fantastic, large numeral 3.	$15.00
	TEXAS: COTULLA 1906 POSTCARD OF ONION HARVEST WORKERS CARD HAS CREASE JUST LEFT OF CENTER AS VIEWED FROM THE FRONT. HISTORIC VALUE. Immigrant Joseph Cotulla, who was reared in Silesia, then a part of Prussia, migrated to the United States in the 1850s. He joined the Union Army in Brownsville, Texas. He lived in Atascosa County, but arrived in La Salle County in 1868] to establish what became a large ranching operation. After learning that the International-Great Northern Railroad intended to lay tracks in La Salle County, he worked to establish the town that bears his name. In 1881, Cotulla donated 120 acres of his land to the railroad, and in 1882, a depot was constructed there. In 1883, the town was granted a post office. The same year, Cotulla became the county seat by special election.	$15.00

	OHIO: MANSFIELD & SENECA COUNTY EARLY 1900S DOCUMENTS WITH TAX STAMPS. Three Bank of Mansfield documents, Two stock cerrtificate stubs with tax stamps and one Seneca County Treasurer's Office receipt (no stamps on this item but it does have a tax rate schedule on the back).	$15.00
	BOSTON MASSACHUSETT 1848 POSTAL HISTORY STAMPLESS FOLDED LETTER. MERCHANTS BANK LOAN DEMAND NOTICE. Preprinted bank notice to D. Pickman, Salem, Massachusetts, that note for $1,200 plus interest is due the middle of the next month.	$15.00
	CALIFORNIA: PASADENA TWO EARLY 1900S ROSE PARADE FLOAT POSTCARDS The postcard at top appears to be a very early Rournament of Roses Parade float card in tht the street isn't even paved. Card was not mailed but has message on back. The bottom card is postmarked1908. Both appear to be colorized.	$15.00
