Extremely late, but genuine stampless cover confirmed by content. Addressed to Lizzie Gibbons, Columbus with letter inside written in the same hand as the address and opening with "Friend Lizzie". Letter is from Edward and describes his travels from Columbus Ohio to Albany, New York City, Pittsfield and back. He explains he did not stop to see her because he was sick. "I gave a young man (with a very nice moustach) a letter of introduction to you and he will call at your house tomorrow eve. So now I want you to write next Wednesday and let me know what you think of him. He is a very nice young man. He is going to Commertial (sic) College. His name is J. F Chapman." More general news and inquiries about mutual friends.

Perhaps one of the last stampless covers from London Ohio. Good postmark and Paid 3 in circle rate mark.
