Letter is in outstanding condition. Addressed to Mary Chapman, Benton, Missouri and is from Joseph Lang. Mr. Chapman has died and the widow plans to return the body to New Hampshire for burial. Lang writes: "I think when you take this matter under consideration you will abandon the idea. you will consider the great difficulty i bringing a coffin so great a distance and the liability of its being detained i changing it from one mode of conveyance to another and what is more to be dreaded than the above is the great anxiety it will cause you in its safe transportation which in your feeble state of health might also prove fatal." There is much more including the fact that he has spoken with family friends who agree with him and he recommends to put it into the hands of God. Well written and easy to read. Unusual topic.
