BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS 1844 STAMPLESS FOLDED LETTER TO NEW BEDFORD MASSACHUSETTS

Year:

1844
Massachusetts

An 1844 Boston stampless postmark letter from Ebenezer Shute to Henry Crappo regarding property owned by Mary Ryder and a bill he feels is excessive. The letter notes in pencil at the bottom: “Mary Ryder lived in the town of Hingham Village. Lived with Hannah Beal who died a few months since—has a sister living named Sally Beal.  Historic records show an Ebenezer Shute (Jan.5, 1775-May 23, 1850) who was married to Susanna Beals. They lived in the Malden area and may be connected to this letter.  Condition excellent. No tears…not even where seal was located.
